Update Your Master Bedroom With These Tips

Updated: Dec 19, 2019

Step 1: The Perfect Paint Job

Finding the right color is the most fundamental step in giving your bedroom the perfect energy. We love light, neutral colors that leave room for colorful accents in your bed linens, pillows, and other accessories. However, you can let your personality be your guide when it comes to choosing your color. Whether you prefer tones of grey, blues, or reds, you'll be able to use color to give your bedroom a relaxing vibe. Just keep in mind that bright colors can be overly stimulating, so soft, muted shades are your friend.

Step 2: Let There Be Light

After the paint job, lighting is the next fundamental step in making any room, especially the bedroom, both beautiful and comfortable. In the bedroom, both the quality of light and design of the lighting fixtures are important to consider. Lamps at the bedside are a must for bedtime readers, and have the added benefit of highlighting any art and accessories. Lamps are also a great way to add some personal flair, as design options are limitless. Remember, this is your bedroom, no one else's so have fun with it!

Step 3: Keep It Cozy

After a long day (or a rough morning) sometimes we just need to sit down and take a breather for a moment. If your bedroom has the space for it, you might consider making your own little cozy corner. A comfortable chair, a lovely lamp, a side table, and maybe even a footrest give you a nice place to relax. The bed should only be for sleeping, so it's nice to have another piece of furniture in the room for when you're not quite ready for bed. If you plan to use this as a reading nook, consider putting your corner near a window to maximize natural light.
